SANTO DOMINGO CITY TOUR FULL DAY

Let’s travel back in time!

Visit the COLUMBUS LIGHTHOUSE and discover how navigators, adventures, clergymen and fortune seekers did in the new world. Experience the lifestyle of colonial Santo Domingo by visiting the ALCAZAR DE COLON. You’ll stop for lunch at the FONDA DE LA ATARAZANA a once colonial warehouse.

Stroll on the CALLE LAS DAMAS the first street of the new world, where the 30 ladies of the Spanish court lived. THE NATIONAL PANTHEON is the place where the nation’s heroes rest; you’ll also see the FORTRESS of Santo Domingo, considered the oldest of its type in the new world. A few steps further on we’ll visit the oldest cathedral of the new world known as BASILICA CATHEDRAL NUESTRA SEÑORA DE LA ENCARNACION. There’s also a stop, for all of you who love souvenir shopping. Best toys are Dominican Amber, Larimar, run, paintings, coffee, arts and crafts, merengue music and many more. Your day in Santo Domingo will end with a panorama drive throughout the modern part of the capital.

HALF DAY CITY TOUR (MOURNING)

For those of you who prefer a half day excursion in the mourning, you can see the Faro a Colon (Columbus lighthouse) where the admiral’s grave is thought to be as well as the museums depicting interesting aspect of the all new world. From there we’ll drive to the Alcazar de Colon, the home of the virrey or vice-king and admire the furniture of those days. A walk along the oldest street of America, Called las Damas will bring us to the Cathedral the very first last one built in the new world.

You’ll make a stop to do some shopping of local handcrafted jewelry. You’ll fine a fine selection of Amber and Larimar, a unique stone, set in g old end silver, merengue music, naïf paintings, arts and crafts, coffee, run, spice and much more.

HALF DAY CITY TOUR (IN THE AFTERNOON)

For those of you who prefer a half day excursion in the afternoon, you’ll leave the hotel after lunch at 1.30 pm and cover the same program as the half day for mourning. This program will be complete at 5.15 pm them returning to your hotel.

NIGHT TOUR

Love the night life?

Drive along the Caribbean coast-line to the capital of the oldest city of the new world to experience the enchantment of its nightlife. Includes a panoramic drive throughout the modern part of Santo Domingo and its Malecon, where each night people gather to enjoy each others company at the numerous different establishments dinner will be at restaurant an experience in it.

Experience the opportunity of shopping in the Caribbean!

The new shopping plaza Acropolis Center has more than 50 stores with great’s bargains and international merchandise; including European brands. From there we’ll to the Plaza Central with about 200 different establishments as apparel stores, shoe-stores, cinemas, beauty parlors, cosmetics, perfume, leather goods, tanks, jewelry, sports articles, painting, etc.

BOTANIC GARDEN

A walk in the nature…

Scientists around the world have divided our nature into 12 different zones. The Dominican Republic has 8 of this zones located on its territory of 48,280 sq. Kilometers alone. Experience visiting them at the ecological museum of this garden and pavilions of diverse Varieties of plants as cacti, bromelians, ferns… area of palms.

You’ll be able to stop at the cafeteria for a refreshment. Afterwards we’ll drive to a nearby orchid establishments where you’ll be delighted by the handsome flowers of fantastic shapes and curiously shaped roots.

SAONA ISLAND AND ALTOS DE CHAVON

A glorious full day experience under the sun!

Driving towards the south-eastern part of the island you’ll reach the Cultural Center of Altos de Chavon in the province of La Romana. This unique setting is an extraordinary undertaking which began to unfold in the year 1976. Dominican stonecutters, ironsmiths and woodworkers combined their skills to create this breathtaking village. You can visit the church of st. stanislaus, contemplate the exuberant vegetation, and visit the regional Museum of Archaeology and its awesome Amphitheater which seats 5,000 spectators! Your trip will continue on a large boat (lunch) discovering a true Caribbean treasure (SAONA ISLAND).

Lunch will be served on the beach at 1.00 pm so you can enjoy your stay to the fullest. You’ll board the boats at 3.30 pm for your return to the hotel.
